It's the end of another month, which means its time to know what Microsoft will have on offer for their Games With Gold promotion for December. November gave us Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter and a Sherlock Holmes game. December looks a bit more appetizing, with Jurassic World Evolution being the headliner for the month.

Jurassic World Evolution is a solid sim game set in the Jurassic Park universe. The game sees you building your own dinosaur theme park and includes voice work from the likes of Jeff Goldblum, Bryce Dallas Howard, and B.D. Wong. The game received middling reviews on release, but the team at Frontier Developments has released several updates to improve the experience. It's not a massive get for the Games With Gold service, but it is a solid addition to the line-up.

The other three games are fine. Insane Robots is a card-battler that I've seen described as "simplistic". That's not necessarily a bad thing, but personally, I'm not too excited. We'll also be getting Toy Story 3 and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate. Both okay games, but certainly not worth writing home about.

And honestly, that's how I'd describe the Games With Gold service for the past few months. Since getting Gears of War 4 in August and Hitman in September, the titles on offer have been somewhat disappointing. It hasn't been as bad as say May of this year, but I doubt I bother downloading any of these.

The first set of December's Games With Gold (Insane Robots and Toy Story 3) will go live on December 1. Jurassic World Evolution and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate will follow on December 16.
