Gamescom 2011: A new Star Wars: The Old Republic Trailer Shows the Violence of Hutt Ball

At Gamescom Bioware released a new trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic, showing off the Hutt Ball, a competitive sport sponsored by various Hutt cartels that will provide a venue for team-based PvP.

The players will be split in two teams by random draw, and will have to bring a ball past the end line of the other team to score, of course killing the opponents in the process is not only permitted, but also encouraged.

One of the most interesting feature is that teams won’t be split according to the usual factional divide that permeates the game, but will be completely random. It means that no matter if you fight for the Republic or the Empire, you might very well find yourself fighting alongside your enemies and against your mates.
