Gamescom 2011: NCSoft Brings the Goods, Kicks it Up a Notch with WildStar

August 18, 2011

Of complete surprise (to me, anyway) was NCSoft’s announcement yesterday at Gamescom of a new MMO they have in the works called WildStar. It’s being developed by Carbine Studios, and looks oddly like a cross between Firefly, Borderlands and [insert random Pixar movie here]. That is to say – it looks quite amazing from the trailer (which I’ve stashed below, along with some screens). I’m going to assume that same visual style will be kept in the final game, and who knows how far down the line the game will release, but hey, the trailer is longer than most that were shown off at the show in Germany. If you’re interested in beta testing this baby, or checking out some more artwork and even some snazzy desktop wallpaper, head on over to the official site.
