If you live the life of the gladiator, you better be ready to fight like one: at least this  is what it seems like in new details and a new trailer from Microsoft's upcoming Xbox One launch title, Ryse: Son of Rome, from Gamescom 2013.

While showing the game in Germany today, Microsoft has also announced and shown new information about Gladiator Mode, the co-op multiplayer component in Ryse: Son of Rome where players will fight continuing waves of enemies, much in the vein of  Horde Mode in Gears of War or Nazi Zombies in the Call of Duty series. In a new update from Xbox Wire, Microsoft revealed a range of customization options and weapons for players as they level-up and gain XP, along with dynamically-changing environments and arenas for new challenges.

Ryse: Son of Rome will also feature a challenge editor to customize different game types and modes across the game's 11 maps for launch, along with a special bonus map for purchasers of the Day One edition of the game.

Ryse: Son of Rome will release for Xbox One as an exclusive launch title later this year. The multiplayer trailer for Gladiator Mode is available below:
