Today at Gamescom I had the chance to spend a sizable amount of time asking all sorts of questions to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida, and when I asked him if the development team was already using PS4 devkits and how they felt about it he definitely sounded hyped about the new toy:

I think it's Fantastic.

(Editor's note: the word he used is "Subarashii", which is basically the highest word of praise you can use in Japanese).

He then pointed at a big screen showing the PC version of the game...

Naturally, you can expect this kind of quality. This is the PC version, but you can expect this kind of quality on the PS4 version as well.

Of course the PC version is already scheduled to receive a DirectX 11 update pretty much at the same time as the PS4 version will hit, but even if the PS4 version would look just as good as the current PC version, Sony's machine would without a doubt have the prettiest MMORPG on the console market in the bag for quite a while. If you don't believe me, you can check the 723 screenshots from the closed beta in my hands-on preview of the game.

Of course you'll also be able to watch the full interview tomorrow or the day after.
