Grab your gear and head out: Battlefield 4‘s beta is only another couple of months away.

Announced today during EA’s press conference at Gamescom 2013 in Germany, the company revealed that the multiplayer beta of their upcoming tactical first-person-shooter will be releasing this coming October, presumably within the few weeks before the game’s full release on October 29th, giving players an early look at the game before its out.

Originally announced in 2012, EA provided early access to the Battlefield 4 Beta with purchases of last year’s Medal of Honor: Warfighter, although alternative options and requests to enter the beta will also most likely be available. No specific details on what the beta will contain have been announced yet, but more should be announced in the coming weeks before its launch.

Battlefield 4 releases on October 29th, 2013 in the US for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, with later releases for Xbox One and PS4.
