Gamescom 2013: Rocksmith may Be Ready to Teach You Other Instruments after the 2014 Edition

Rocksmith‘s teaching model has proven to be quite effective in letting players actually learn how to handle a guitar, and from what I’ve seen during a behind closed doors presentation at Gamescom it’s going to get even better with the 2014 edition, with a slew of new features, non-existent loading times, less lag and over 80 lessons.

During the presentation i asked Creative Director Paul Cross and Executive Producer Nao Higo if they were considering a future implementation of other instruments besides the guitar, and they said that they wanted to get to a really solid teaching method before expanding that way, and they feel that they achieved the task with 2014 Edition.

This means that the next Rocksmith might actually teach us something else entirely.

Cross brought up a quite fitting Ubisoft-themed analogy, saying that Rocksmith was their Assassin’s Creed. Rocksmith 2014 Edition is their Assassin’s Creed 2. Maybe the next  Rocksmith will feature pirate instruments.
