Gamescom 2018’s Opening Ceremony Will Include New Reveals by Ubisoft, Square Enix, THQ, and More

While there won't be any formal "press conference" at Gamescom, the opening ceremony on August 21st will come with reveals and announcements.

The Gamescom press team reached out with a press release announcing the opening ceremony for the upcoming trade show that that will open its doors next week in Cologne, Germany.

According to the announcement, at 11:00 AM local time on August 21st the opening ceremony will be held, and multiple publishers will present “global premieres” for their games.

THQ Nordic will reveal an unannounced game based on one of its established brands. Square Enix will showcase the first trailer of Dontnod Entertainment’s Life is Strange 2. Koch Media and its publishing partner Deep Silver will also make a new announcement.

Ubisoft is also mentioned as having a premiere in store, but no details have been provided on this one.

Last, but not least, Bandai Namco will reveal a previously-teased┬ábrand new game, and now we learn that it’s by a European developer.
