Gamestop’s New Program Will Give You Full Credit for Games
GameStop will reportedly launch a Guaranteed to Love it program this week with Days Gone that lets players return games and get full credit.
GameStop doesn’t have the best reputation when it comes to purchasing games from a retailer. We’ve all been there before. You purchase a game and excitedly go home eager to play it, only to find out you don’t like it. So, you decide to return the game the next day for a full refund, but that’s not possible.
Unfortunately, some retailers don’t allow you to return opened games, or in GameStop’s case, don’t offer a good trade-in prices for them. Once the original packaging is open, the game is practically worthless. Returning or trading in games can be a frustrating process and some might see this as unfair.
We’ve all seen the different memes about how GameStop handles people who are trying to trade in a game, return a game, or buy a used one But, now it appears that the store is changing by creating a new policy that will give gamers a 48-hour window on returns. Cheap Ass Gamer leaked on Twitter:
News: GameStop to Launch “Guaranteed to Love it” program. If you return the game within 48 hours of the game’s launch you get your money back in the form of Trade-in Credit. First game is Days Gone. If you hate it, bring it back with 48 hours and get $59.99 in trade-in credit. pic.twitter.com/kLMBpsDz7O

Personally, this seems like a step in the right direction for GameStop. We’ll have to wait until the program fully rolls out to see how consumers respond to it, considering the retailer doesn’t have the best reputation. Hopefully, this could help put them in a different light. Days Gone will finally release for PS4 on May 26.
