GameStop Wants to Show You Their Shiny Pokemanz All Through January

If you own Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, and/or Soul Silver, and are planning on continuing the adventure with Black and/or White, Nintendo and GameStop have some very important news for you: starting this week, GameStops all across the US and Canada will be giving out Shiny versions of the Legendary Beasts from the 2nd Generation, Raikou, Entei, and Suicine. Why is this important?

Well, apparently you’re going to have to transfer one of these Pokemon into your new copy of Black or White if you want the chance to capture the mysterious Illusion Fox Pokemon, Zoroark.  So basically, no Shiny Legendaries, no Zoroark.

If you want a chance to get Shiny versions of all the Legendaries, you better get on it soon; this is the schedule for Pokemon dispensing:

Shiny Raikou: January 3 through January 9, 2011
Shiny Entei: January 17 through January 23, 2011
Shiny Suicune: January 31 through February 6, 2011

Personally, as a 25 year old male adult, I’ve never felt the need to actually walk to a public place and get free Pokemon, but these are Shiny Pokemon, and on top of that, how else am I going to obtain Zoroark when I inevitably purchase White? If any of you Pokemon fans are in San Diego, I hope to meet you at a GameStop and awkwardly exchange passing glances are we stand in line for imaginary monsters with 12 year olds.

His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
