You can say a lot of things about Gary Coleman, but one thing we can all agree on is that he was a pop culture icon. Let’s take a quick moment and talk about his contribution to the video game industry.

In the gaming world, Coleman is best known for his character in Postal 2 (Running with Scissors), as a boss character. “The Postal Dude”, after waiting in a long line to get Coleman’s autograph at a local mall, can choose to either walk away peacefully or attempt to kill him. If he leaves him alone, the police still storm the mall and a gunfight ensues. Coleman is initially killed, but can be seen in jail later in the game and also appears in the expansion Apocalypse Weekend.

Coleman also voiced a character in LucasArts’ The Curse of Monkey Island and his IMDB page says that he briefly owned an arcade in Fisherman’s Village in Santa Monica, CA.

Just wanted to mention Gary Coleman’s contributions to the gaming world as we all remember his memory. As an adult who was born in the 70’s and grew up in the 80’s I will always remember the joy he brought me. He never seemed as happy as he made all of his fans, but maybe now he can rest in peace.
