Finally, after all of the teasers for teasers, teaser trailers, trailers for teasers, and so-forth, EA and DICE have unveiled the next entry in the popular first-person shooter series, Battlefield 4.
The game will run on an updated version of the Frostbite 2 engine, Frostbite 3 – presumably to make it look more gorgeous for the next generation. It indeed does look gorgeous. Unlike Battlefield 3, this newest game will put gamers into the shoes of one soldier, rather than bouncing them around. The goal seems to be to establish a more personal, emotional story – not a bad idea seeing as how the single-player campaign in Battlefield 3 was severely lacking.
Battlefield 4 is being developed by DICE and will be published by EA in the Fall of this year for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC – next-generation systems have not been confirmed, and the game is not being released on Wii U. Those who pre-order the game will receive the ‘premium expansion pack.’ You can watch the gameplay video and teaser trailer below.
