Gearbox Software is Attending PAX East 2019 and Will be Bringing Along “Never-Before-Seen Reveals”

Gearbox seems poised to make quite a few announcements next month at PAX East.

The schedule and attendees list for PAX East 2019 was released this morning and as expected, the usual slate of publishers like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, Square-Enix, and many, many others will be in attendance. Of the full list of attendees though, one developer/publisher, in particular, is raising some eyebrows, specifically because of what is promised to be shown off at the convention.

Gearbox Software, the company in question, will be making its way to Boston last next month for PAX East and in the process will be holding a panel at the show. The “Gearbox Main Theater Show” is set to take place on Thursday, March 28 at 2:00 PM EST and will last for an hour. What’s intriguing about this panel though is that Gearbox promises it’ll contain “never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises” which has many people asking just could be planned.

Here’s the full description of the Gearbox panel pulled from PAX’s website:

This is your opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at Gearbox Software and Gearbox Publishing, along with the latest news and updates from the makers of Borderlands, Battleborn, Brothers in Arms, and more!  We will have never-before-seen reveals, exclusives, and surprises, so don’t miss out.

This promise of making new announcements coincide with rumors and speculation that have been running wild for years about what Gearbox is making next. The studio’s upcoming project pretty much guaranteed to be that of Borderlands 3. That being said, we still haven’t formally seen Borderlands 3 just yet and it still needs to be unveiled. With publisher Take-Two Interactive continually teasing that it has a new game in the cards this coming fiscal year from a major franchise, it seems likely that Borderlands 3 could be announced very soon.

However, just because Borderlands 3 seems to be in the cards doesn’t mean it’ll be revealed next month at PAX East. There have also been other rumors and leaks that a potential remaster of the original Borderlands is set to release at some point, too. Maybe this will be what Gearbox opts to reveal at PAX East and will keep the larger announcement of Borderlands 3 for another day.

Regardless of what transpires, we’ll find out for sure one month from today. DualShockers will be in attendance at PAX East 2019 and we’ll let you know more of what happens during this panel at that time.
