Gears 5 Has Officially Gone Gold

Gears 5 has gone gold and The Coalition has released the game's achievements list to celebrate.

Hot off the heels of announcing the plans for Gears 5 at Gamescom this month, The Coalition today also announced that work on the game is now complete.

That’s right, Gears 5 has now gone gold, meaning that all of the work needed to be done to get the game to a shipping stage has now been finished. As is normal, the team at The Coalition will likely still continue working on Gears 5 up until launch and there will likely be a day one patch that will arrive upon release, as there is with just about every game nowadays.

“From all of us at The Coalition, we couldn’t be more excited to share Gears 5 with the world,” said Rod Fergusson, studio head at The Coalition in a post on Xbox Wire. “I want thank the team here who has worked so hard for our fans, and we all hope you are all as excited as we are to play Gears 5. This is furthest we have ever taken the franchise, living our studio mantra of ‘if you want to go far go together’.”

In addition to announcing that Gears 5 has now gone gold, the achievements for the game were also today divulged. The list contains a handful of achievements that are tied to specific aspects of Gears 5 such as the campaign, horde mode, versus, and the new escape mode. There are also some others that are general achievements that you can earn in multiple areas of the game. If you want to take a look over the full list (don’t worry, there are no spoilers) you can find it here.

Gears 5 will launch next month on September 10 for Xbox One and PC.
