Gears of War 4’s October Update Revealed; Adds New Map and More

Gears of War 4 is getting a brand new update today, which includes two new maps, as well as a Halloween Event which will be starting on Friday.

Developer The Coalition and publisher Microsoft Studios have officially revealed a brand new update for their popular third-person shooter Gears of War 4.

First and foremost, like all the other monthly updates for the game, this one includes two brand new maps. The first is a remake of the Gears of War and Gears of War 2 map Fuel Depot, which the developer promises will be just as excited as before. The second is called Lift Apex, which takes place in the middle of the ocean on an Imulsion Extraction Factory.

Fuel Depot and Lift Apex both can be played right now by Season Pass owners, while all other players will have to wait until October 30, 2017. A trailer for the two maps was released. You can check it out at the end of the article.

In addition to that, a roadmap of future content for the game was also announced. On Friday, October 27, 2017, a Halloween Event will begin. While details on this occasion are scarce, it looks like we will see the return of pumpkin heads in some capacity, thanks to a promotional image that was released.

Three other events were also announced, including one to celebrate the game’s anniversary, as well as the return of Thanksgibbing and Gearsmas.

In other Gears of War 4 news, today new details about the game’s Xbox One X enhancements were revealed.
