Today developer The Coalition and publisher Microsoft Studios revealed the first details about the August update coming to their game Gears of War 4.

First off, like the other updates, this one brings two new maps into the game. The first is titled Forge Blitz, which is an evolution of the map Forge, except with emphasis on a tighter experience. The August update also sees a return of the classic Gears of War map Canal, set in the city of Timgad.

Both maps are available right now for season pass owners, and playing on either on will grant you double XP and 20% extra credits. They will be available for everyone else starting on August 8th, 2017.

In addition to the two maps, a new skin named Classic Commando Dom is also now available.

Finally, two new events were announced. The first will be a new Horde mode event that will take place on August 18th, 2017, however no other details about this mode was revealed. The second will be a One Shot, One Kill event, which will take place exclusively on the new map Canal on August 25th, 2017.

A new trailer, which shows off the two new maps was released. You can check it out at the end of the article.

Last month the game received its July Update, which added the maps Raven Down and Reclaimed Wildfire, as well as the skins Superstar Cole and Civilian Anya.

Gears of War 4 was originally released on October 11th, 2016, and is available on the Xbox One and Windows PC.
