German independent developer Radiation Blue and publisher Team17 released a brand new trailer for their upcoming roguelike Genesis Alpha One today. While it showcases some aspects of base-building and FPS survival elements on the ship, it mainly introduces the game's Planetary Landings system.

As the feature's name suggests, players have the ability to land on alien planets in order to document and collect different resources, mainly iron, iridium, and aluminum. Killing enemies will also net players biomass, which can be used to create new clones on the spaceship with alien abilities. The developers also say that by exploring planets, players will be able to encounter new weapons and blueprints to craft, alongside ancient artifacts and transmissions to use on the spaceship.

For those of you who don't know, in Genesis Alpha One, players take control of an interstellar pioneer in order to find a new home for humanity, as earth is ravaged. The universe is procedurally generated, so no two adventures are ever the same, which should keep the gameplay loop of survival, base-building, and exploring planets enjoyable.

You can check out the trailer below alongside some new screenshots. Genesis Alpha One will release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime in 2018.
