miHoYo announced the release time for the pre install download of ver 1.4 of Genshin Impact, Invitation of Windblume. The pre install for the ver 1.4 update will be available for all servers on March 14, at 11 PM ET.
For those on PT, this will be on March 14, at 8 PM PT. Lastly, in GMT, this will be March 15, at 3 AM GMT. If you need time conversions for other time zones, click here for a table with various cities in the world. Simply ctrl+f for yours.

What is pre install, pre download, and how do you do it for Genshin Impact 1.4?
Available on all platforms, the pre install and pre download function lets you pre download and install the resources needed for the ver 1.4 update, while still being able to play Genshin Impact. However, per-installation will consume a certain amount of your bandwidth so it's possible to experience lag and slowdowns if your connection isn't powerful enough.
When the time has come for pre install, simply open the Genshin impact launcher, and click the "Game Pre-Installation button" which will be located at the bottom of the window. That way, when the 1.4 update launches on March 17, you'll simply have to update for a few minutes and you'll be done, instead of downloading the update then.

Genshin Impact 1.4 will add several new elements including the Hangout Events or Dating Events. Where several four star characters will get their own multiple choice stories. For now the characters implemented are Barbara, Bennett, Noelle, and Chongyun. Read everything about Hangout Events here. 1.4 will also include banner reruns for Venti and Childe.
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open world action JRPG, available on PC, PS4, PS5 via backward compatibility, and Mobile. The game was also announced on Switch, but has no release date there yet.
