Genshin Impact's 2.3 Update will be the last update for this year, and it seems like miHoYo has some interesting plans for the same.

We have the 2.2 Update, and it will be a comparatively smaller update. We are only receiving one new character, Thoma, alongside new regions, quests, and much more. While that's still a lot, the previous updates have been significantly larger.

All that aside, the next update which will be arriving after 2.2 is the 2.3 Update, and there are a few interesting things to look forward to in that update. Firstly, we know that Gorou and Itto will be arriving as part of the update. Itto has already grabbed the attention of many fans out there, and it will be one of the most popular characters in the game without a doubt.

Genshin Impact 2.3 Leaks: New Banner Type With Rerun Characters, Weapons Leaked

We have received quite an unusual leak today, and that states that the next update will be consisting of a new banner type. According to a post on the Gernshin Impact leaks subreddit, there will be a new banner type in the game in the upcoming update. Here is what the leak states, courtesy of nkhrchy.

The leaker is saying that after Childe's 2.2 rerun there's going to be a new banner type after 2.3 containing both characters and weapons?

The banner will contain characters that have already gone through 2 reruns (e.g. Childe) and it will have a similar mechanic to the Epitomised Path for the weapon banner currently. So these characters will no longer appear in the regular limited banner.

Not sure if anyone has uploaded this so I'm gonna put this here first.

the banner might only be put in place when there's at least 2 characters who've had 2 reruns. Possibly new currency but unconfirmed as of posting.

While all this should be taken with a grain of salt like always, this is quite big news considering that it will be adding a new dimension to the game's gacha system. So far players have to wait for a long time for banner reruns, but if this turns out to be true, their wait might become significantly lesser.
