Genshin Impact 2.7 2.8 Roadmap Brings the Updates Back on Track

Finally, a new roadmap!

May 19, 2022

Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse revealed a new roadmap for the Version 2.7 and 2.8 updates, notifying fans when to expect new content after an unprecedented delay.

Those of you following international news might have seen how the situation in Shanghai is improving, meaning game developers based over there, including Genshin Impact‘s HoYoverse, will soon be out of their lockdown ordeal. And today on May 19, HoYoverse published a new roadmap revealing when 2.7 and 2.8 will be releasing.

Genshin Impact 2.7 Gets a New Release Date

HoYoverse announced that the maintenance for Version 2.7 will be happening on May 31st, confirming the latest data mined leaks that listed May 31st as the release date for Yelan. The never-ending banner for Ayaka will also be ending on May 31 right before maintenance. There are no changes to the dates and schedules of all the other ongoing events. We will know all the official details about 2.7 with the upcoming live stream on May 20.

The Serenitea Pot Maintenance is also ending

HoYoverse also confirmed the release of Version 2.7 on May 31 will finally mark the end of the Serenitea Pot maintenance after nearly two months. Players will be able to use the Edit function again and place characters and furnishing like any other game’s Housing Mode.

Worry not, 2.8 will Bring the Updates Back on Track

Meanwhile, Version 2.8 has been officially confirmed to be released on July 13, 2022. This will be on a Wednesday, and six weeks after the release of 2.7, which is the usual amount of time between each Genshin Impact update. The game won’t be getting the weeks lost after its unprecedented delay, but at least the delay won’t have any further repercussions on the schedule.

In any case, it’s great to see HoYoverse back into things again, as hopefully the Covid lockdown in Shanghai will be lifted soon.

Are you happy that Yelan is finally coming home, or would you have preferred for the delay to be a few weeks longer to get more Apologems? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
