Genshin Impact Free Primogems Distribution Coming This Week To Celebrate App Store Game Of The Year Award

miHoYo is distributing 800 free Primogems to every Genshin Impact player, and it's not enough for ten pulls but still better than nothing.

December 2, 2020

miHoYo announced on Twitter 800 free Primogems will be distributed to all players to celebrate the multiple awards won these past weeks by Genshin Impact (PC, PS4, PS5, Mobile, Switch soon). The 800 free Primogems will be issued to Genshin Impact players worldwide between December 3 and December 6. Via the ingame mail function.

Apple just announced Genshin won the App Store Game of the Year Award. Genshin was also nominated at Golden Joystick, and The Game Awards. The exact same tweet about free Primogems was shared over on the Japanese Genshin Impact Twitter too. To be honest, it’s not enough for ten pulls, so one could joke the awards aren’t worth ten pulls, but it’s  still better than nothing.

Genshin Impact just released Zhongli and Xinyan with the Gentry of Hermitage gacha banner. We wrote guides for each of the characters. In particular, we explained why Zhongli is one of the most popular characters in Japan so far in Genshin. A new event focusing on the game’s gliding element will be coming on December 4 as well.

The next Genshin Impact major update, version 1.2, is scheduled for December 23. It’ll add the Dragonspine area, inaccessible right now, and multiple new characters. For each major update so far, miHoYo held a private Closed Beta Test with a few selected players. Pretty much everything from ver 1.1 ended up being leaked prior to its launch on November 11. Multiple players in ver 1.2 leaked content as well, so miHoYo this time decided to take action. Ver 1.3 is scheduled for February 2021. Future updates will add the Inazuma region.
