Genshin Impact's latest leak gives a detailed insight into the future plans of the game, and fans would be elated to know the details.

The next Genshin Impact update, the 2.3 Update, is barely a few days away from launch. This update will be quite a significant one, adding two new characters, Gorou and Itto, and a plethora of other things in the game.

The developers are constantly looking to expand further, and recently, they opened a new office in Montreal. As per reports, miHoYo is working on a new AAA title which is action-adventure shooter, and this new team will be working on that itself. While it's new territory for miHoYo, at the very core, it still holds true to its roots.

All that aside, miHoYo has a long-term plan in place for its flagship, Genshin Impact as well. An interesting leak has surfaced, giving us some exciting information about what's next.

Genshin Impact Leaks Hints At Ayato, Chasm Release Timeline, New Male & Female Character

This leak comes from Uncle Dumb Dumb, who has turned out to be quite accurate on multiple occasions, and the credit for the translation goes to Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Discord. Here is what the leak states.

If you say [Area] is in 2.4, it's fake. The exact update it will come out had already been decided, because it [TN: referring to the development timeline?] is already at 3.0 now. I'll leave you some scraps, don't quote me, I'll delete in a while. Before 3.0 you will be able to see [Area] and golden apple archipelago rerun. After Ayato, there is one male and one female character, but don't ask, they're not done yet.
TN: Whether [Area] refers to the Chasm or Enkanomiya is not confirmed. He only used one character "渊", which can refer to either:
渊下宫 = Enkanomiya
岩层巨渊 = The Chasm

Let's break down the leak first. Firstly, it is stated that after Ayato there will be one new male and female character, so that suggests that Ayato will be coming before 3.0, in some of the 2.x Update. It could be 2.6 and might go up to 2.9, considering that we do have a fair idea about characters till 2.5.

Secondly, the leak talks about Chasm and Eukanomiya. It should be noted that this is likely Chasm because Euknaomiya was pretty much confirmed to be arriving in 2.4. Once again, we will be getting Chasm before 3.0. That means all of this should come out next year if this leak proves to be true.
