The Memory of Dust 5-star Catalyst is coming back in the first weapon banner of Genshin Impact 2.2, here are some team comp and builds tips for the weapon, and whether you should you pull for it or not.
Is Memory of Dust good in Genshin Impact, stats at Level 90, Skills
The secondary stat of Memory of Dust is %ATK, and at Level 90, it reaches 608 Base ATK and 49.6% ATK.
The special Skill of Memory of Dust, with refinement levels bonus under parentheses: Increases Shield Strength by 20% (25%, 30%, 35%, 40%). Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4% (5%, 6%, 7%, 8%) for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
As you can see, Memory of Dust is a Catalyst specifically made for DPS characters and is quite strong at level 1 refinement.
Note that you'll only get the 20% Shield strength bonus if the character equipped with Memory of Dust got the shield themselves. However, the 100% bonus is when protected by any shield. Long story short, Memory of Dust is one of the best Catalysts in the game for DPS.
Builds and team comp, and should you pull Memory of Dust
Any team composition with a Memory of Dust character needs at least one character in the party who can make shields. Obviously, Zhongli is your best choice, followed by Noelle and other Geo characters.
As for which character you should give Memory of Dust to, the best choice is Klee if you own her. After that, it's Ningguang, Yanfei, Lisa, or any Catalyst character you're using as a DPS. Yanfei is a particularly good choice if you have her at C4 as she can generate shields herself.
In short, if you do have Klee, you should definitely get Memory of Dust if you have enough Primogems or can afford to swipe. Personally speaking though, I'd always recommend saving your Primogems for new characters rather than weapons. It's always more fun playing with a new character you like.
