In China, miHoYo is currently holding a regional collaboration event for Genshin Impact (PC, PS4, Mobile, soon on Switch, PS5), pretty much showing how the game would look like in real life. The collab event is with Unesco World Heritage Site Huanglong, which is one of the many real life inspirations for the landscapes found in Genshin Impact.

Additional screenshots have been shared as well by the official Chinese Genshin Impact social accounts, most notably with cosplayers hired for the occasion. We have cosplay of Cryo user jiangshi loli Qiqi from Bubu Pharmacy, and Electro user Keqing, the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing. Both are Liyue characters fitting the landscape perfectly.

Genshin Impact is pretty much a Japanese game and it also shows in its promotional strategy. These kind of promotional event with cultural spots or regions are a regular thing in Japan, with games, anime, or manga. One of the most iconic example is Square Enix and the Romancing SaGa series regularly holding promotional events with Saga Prefecture. The SaGa series is featured on regional Saga festivals such as the Saga International Balloon Fiesta. Some SaGa themed manholes were recently introduced in the region too:

Genshin Impact is currently holding its second limited gacha banner, focusing on Klee. The game also got its first maintenance on October 22, fixing some bugs, though we still don't have key bindings.

Genshin Impact Version 1.1 is expected to launch on November 11 with a new event. Version 1.2 is expected to launch on December 23, and will add another event and the new Dragonspine area. Version 1.3 is scheduled for February 2021. You can read in detail about each update here and here.
