The final part of the Hues of the Violet Garden event in Genshin Impact has been released, revealing a new lore dump for Scaramouche, also known as Kunikuzushi, aka Balladeer, aka the Kakihara Tetsuya boy, and again heavily hinting that he will be playable.

Needless to say, this article contains spoilers for the Hues of the Violet Garden event, but also for the latest Archon Quest too as we'll bring up Dainsleif.

Genshin Impact Hues of the Violet Garden Event Humanizes Scaramouche in New Lore Dump

The final part of the event in Legends of the Kasen revealed the main culprit behind the decline of the Raiden Gokaden and Kazuha's Kaedehara clan was Scaramouche. However, HoYoverse decided to show us how Scaramouche ended up sparing the life of Kazuha's great grandfather Kaedehara Yoshinori during their encounter. And it had something to do with a certain Niwa clan, the clan Yoshinori was part of.

While we don't know the nature of the connection between this Niwa clan and Scaramouche, this is what made him spare the life of Yoshinori. In any case, the point is, HoYoverse is starting more and more to try and humanize Scara and show he is mainly motivated by his own emotions and inner conflicts, and that these feelings could stop him from simply spreading pure chaos and directly destroying the Raiden Gokaden like he initially planned.

HoYoverse already did the same thing at the end of the Inazuma Archon Quest with Yae hinting that Scaramouche purposefully avoided any contact with Ei. Similarly, Ayato mentioned at the end of the event that Scaramouche sent a Fatui spy to look into the Kaedeara clan's belongings to see if Yoshinori had ever spoken about that matter to anyone. So the Niwa clan is something of high importance to Scaramouche and something he wants to keep hidden. It will definitely be one of the key elements for making him leave his villain role behind in future story developments.

Why this is another hint Scaramouche will redeemed and playable soon

Foreshadowing in Genshin Impact so far has always been very straightforward and soon followed by the foreshadowed events actually happening. For example, it was painfully obvious from the first Character Quest with Ei that she and the Raiden Shogun would end up fighting.

It doesn't take many version updates for us to learn much more about a character once they are introduced visually. Take a look at Dain. When he was introduced with his first Archon Quest, many answers about him were answered and heavily foreshadowed, like how he traveled with the other sibling. Now, in the new Archon Quest of 2.6, that one fact was directly confirmed and we pretty much learned everything about Khaenri'ah/The Abyss Order, the other sibling, and Dain's story and struggle.

Furthermore, Genshin Impact puts a lot of care into character and story coherence in how all the playable characters, even those in enemy factions like Childe, have an amicable stance toward the Traveler. This is also in order to keep story coherence when it comes to gameplay elements like the Serenitea Pot, where the Traveler can have friendly discussions with the playable characters.

The fact that we're learning more and more about Scaramouche and his actions is proof we're heading towards his implementation as a playable character. You should definitely expect Scaramouche to be playable sooner rather than later. I'd personally bet for an end of 2022 or early 2023 release.

New Leaks Hint at Possible Balladeer Weekly Boss in Sumeru and Version 3.1

Moreover, new leaks from the alleged alt account of Uncle DD hinted that Scaramouche could be added as a weekly boss in Version 3.1.

If you didn't follow leaks in the past, Uncle DD was an insider with a very good track record, posting on the Chinese forum NGA. However, Uncle DD got their account banned. Since then, someone claiming to be their alternate account has been sharing new leaks.

NGA is where most leaks originate from, excluding Beta Tests and data mining, and NGA leaks are always about Version Updates far into the future. Meaning they are more likely to be fake and should be taken with a grain of salt. Even when these leaks are real, it's always possible for HoYoverse to change its plans too.

Needless to say, there's also how HoYoverse would never create a character voiced by a seiyuu as popular as Tetsuya Kakihara and not make him playable. It would go against basic gacha business model common sense. Data miners have also already found that Scaramouche was listed as a playable character. In any case, what do you all think of the new Scaramouche lore? Let me know in the comments!
