Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse (previously miHoYo) has put the Serenitea Pot feature into maintenance ever since the launch of Version 2.6, and more and more players are anxiously waiting for it to end, here's what's happening.
Here's what happened to the Serenitea Pot in Genshin Impact 2.6
Ever since the launch of Genshin Impact 2.6 on March 30, 2022, players cannot use the edit function inside the Serenitea Pot. The Serenitea Pot is basically Genshin Impact's Housing feature, and HoYoverse put it into maintenance. Meaning you cannot place new furnishings or characters, or remove them. So for example, if you placed characters inside the Pot who attained max Friendship, you can't swap them out to farm Friendship for a newly released character you just pulled, like Ayato. You can still use all the other functions of the Serenitea Pot though.

- Entering your own Serenitea Pot
- Joining another player's Serenitea Pot
- Creating new furnishings
- Harvesting crops and planting new seeds
- Using the Trust Rank function to redeem Adeptal Energy and Realm Bounty
- Entering your mansion
- Using the teleporters and mini-game related furnishings
HoYoverse's communication on the maintenance as of April 25 2022
HoYoverse so far did not announce a schedule for the maintenance, and there has been no announcement regarding when it could end. However, seeing we were first given 5000 Adeptal Energy as compensation, which is several days worth of Adeptal Energy if your Pot is at max level, it's safe to assume the maintenance will still go on for several weeks. Every player also got 300 Primogems as compensation.
HoYoverse later announced on April announced via an in-game notice that the Serenitea Pot maintenance will still go on for an undetermined amount of time. Starting April 4, 2022, every week of the maintenance period, players will receive 5000 Realm Currency as compensation. HoYoverse asked players to keep in touch with the Genshin Impact official channels for the latest announcements regarding this issue, and apologized again to all the playerbase. In an in-game mail, HoYoverse asked players for their patience and understanding, and apologized for the inconvenience caused. However, many players are getting fed up with waiting as it's been over three weeks now since the maintenance started.
