Genshin Impact players are encountering lag and server connection issues this March 1, 2022, with no fix in sight.

Genshin Impact is still one of the most popular online RPGs out there, and the game has a worldwide audience. Players in North America in particular have been complaining about connection issues since late afternoon EST/PST on February 28, and these issues are still ongoing at the moment.

Genshin Impact server connection and lag issues (March 1) detected on North America server

As discussed on the r/Genshin_Impact Reddit several players on the North America server are encountering lag issues in Genshin Impact these past 18 hours. Picking up items and most notably switching characters is extremely laggy, making even the most mundane fights (80% of the battle content as the endgame really lacks variety) impossible.

Personally speaking, I haven't encountered any connection issues while logging into Genshin Impact these past few hours. I haven't noticed any players in the Japanese or French community bringing up this issue either, so it's definitely only affecting the North America server.

As of now, HoYoverse and Cognosphere have yet to address this issue, so we don't know yet if we could get some Apologems out of it. We'll be sure to tell you if we learn more.

Genshin Impact will soon launch Version 2.6, adding Kamisato Ayato as a playable character, one of the most awaited husbandos since the game's release.

Version 2.6 will also make The Chasm area accessible, a highly awaited area seeing its name tag has been visible on the Genshin world map ever since the pre-release Beta Tests. The Chasm has always been one of the centers of attention when it comes to Genshin Impact leaks, and we'll finally be able to actually explore it with 2.6 starting March 30.
