The Shadow of the Ancients Event has started in Genshin Impact this November 5. It's not a main event like the Labyrinth Warriors Event, ending in a few days, so you might be wondering what kind of rewards are included, how many Primogems we'll get, and if it's worth doing it.

There are several Events included in every Version of Genshin Impact, and Shadow of the Ancients is one of the final ones we'll get before Version 2.3. Here's what you need to know.

Genshin Impact Event Shadow of the Ancient

Overall, especially if you're a free-to-play player, you should be doing as much content in the Genshin Events as possible. And Shadow of the Ancients is pretty easy to go through with some nice rewards.

Genshin Impact Shadow of the Ancients rewards Primogems

Right now with Phase 1 of the Shadow of the Ancients Event, we can get 160 Primogems. There are three phases in total, so we'll get at least 480 Freemogems by the end of the Event.

Shadow of the Ancients - Survey Phase 1

Overall, you need to reach specific locations (shown in the Event menu) and detect the materials you need with the Ayesha Chaos Prospector. It's a Gadget, so be sure to equip it first.

You can only place 3 Ayesha's Chaos Prospectors at a time, so you might think you should place them far apart from each other. But the best way to use them is to keep setting them one after the other, following the light they indicate. The new one you place will replace the oldest one. See how I do it:

Note that at the start of the video I ended up finding a special device. The game downright tells you we can't activate these for now. It'll become important in the next Phases of the Event unlocking in a few days. Just ignore it for now.

Lastly, note that you can't set up any Prospectors when monsters are nearby, so you'll often have to clean the area first. Sometimes monsters will also spawn when you detect and dig up something. It'll rarely be anything threatening, but play the Event with your main party just in case.

Genshin Impact Version 2.3 will be launching on November 24 with new playable characters Arataki Itto and Gorou. Albedo was also leaked to be the banner rerun seeing he'll be featured in the main event of the update: it's the sequel to the 1.3 Dragonspine event.
