Geoff Keighley Announces The Kids' Games Awards; Coming in October

With the last two ceremonies, producer Geoff Keighley brought a whole new class of awards presentations to gaming with the introduction of The Game Awards in 2014, with Keighley having announced a new show that will target a younger demographic and celebrate the achievements of gaming for kids.

Keighley announced that alongside the annual The Game Awards, a new show called The Kids’ Game Awards will be debuting in October of this year, with the ceremony to air through Dreamworks TV on YouTube.

Along with celebrating the achievements of gaming for children, a report from Variety also explained that the program will provide an “interactive all-digital show that will let viewers vote on their favorite video games,” along with celebrity guest appearance, music acts, “digital influencers,” and more.

The program is also currently being supported by companies such as Activision, Nintendo, and Warner Bros., who act on the advisory board and also support The Game Awards.
