Before the end of 2018, Capcom revealed new details on their upcoming plans for their megahit action hunting title — Monster Hunter World. Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher series will be making his way into the game's world. Little is known about what will transpire during Geralt's visit, but we now have a concrete release date for the new content on consoles. The Witcher event will be available on Friday, February 8 according to Capcom's Monster Hunter Twitter account:

This content will be available for every player to enjoy. All we know about the update so far is the fact that it'll include a unique questline starring the hero of The Witcher series. Hopefully, more will be shown before the event releases. As of right now, this new content will launch first on PS4 and Xbox One with a PC release shortly after.

For more on the newest content coming to Monster Hunter: World in 2019, Capcom also revealed an expansion for the game titled Iceborne. It'll include some brand new ranks, environments, gear, and obviously... monsters. Players will have to wait until the fall of 2019 to get their hands on Iceborne. Capcom does plan on showing off more once spring arrives.

The Witcher isn't the only series that has made its way into the world of Monster Hunter, Assassin's Creed: Origins also recently got some costumes added to the game that players can acquire. At the end of the summer, World also collaborated with Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, adding in the series' iconic (and intimidating) Behemoth as a huntable beast.

If you'd like to get your hands on Monster Hunter: World, the title is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
