Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 New Teaser Reveals Spring 2020 Start

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045's Motoko looks super cute in Kushinov Ilya's style and is again voiced by Atsuko Tanaka.

Netflix pushed out a teaser trailer for its exclusive upcoming GITS anime, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. Announced back in 2017, Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 will have two seasons of 12 episodes, and the first one starts in Spring 2020.

Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 is produced by Production I.G and directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama. Kamiyama directed all the previous GITS TV series at Production I.G and wrote most of their plot too. However, GITS is a franchise that changes a lot with every installment and media. Shirow’s original manga is different from the Oshii movies, which are different from the TV series and the OAVs. So I’m looking forward to what SAC_2045 will bring to the table.

Note that we can hear Atsuko Tanaka voicing Motoko. I really like Maaya Sakamoto but it’s nice to have Atsuko Tanaka’s back following GITS Arise.

One thing for sure is that it looks amazing and that Motoko is ultra-cute with Kushinov Ilya charadesign. It’s one of those cases when it feels like the artist’s style was born to depict the series one day, and gives me the same feeling as when I first saw Umakoshi’s Casshern or Saint Seiya designs.

A new key visual was also published. Makes me think it would be nice if we had a new good GITS game one day.
