Sucker Punch recently confirmed that they have some other plans for their next-title before starting the work on Ghost of Tsushima. Now, the new leaks have revealed that the canceled project was named Prophecy.

Over the five years that Sony's Sucker Punch was working on Infamous series, the studio delivered three mainline entries of the franchise and all of them received moderately positive reviews from fans and media. Since their last Infamous-related launch in 2014, the studio shifted its focus on a brand new IP which we assume to be Ghost of Tsushima, but the developers recently revealed that they have worked on a canceled project for a few years before crafting the initial concepts of Tsushima.

Prophecy is a third-person stealth-action set in an era similar to the industrial revolution where your character, as a most wanted criminal, is seeking some kind of rare mineral substance. During the leaked gameplay footage, the protagonist manages to escape from some heavily armored guards in a city that reminds me of Assassin's Creed Unity's locations. Prophecy from Ghost of Tsushima Developers

Actually, the gameplay mechanics and environment settings have so much to share with Assassin's Creed series. Of course, we don't know much about Prophecy and its base concept, but the stealth mechanics, parkour moves, and combat style of the game look so familiar for every who has already played one of the last-gen titles of Assassin's Creed franchise.

Judging by the visuals, the game seems to be a current-gen project that couldn't survive the development process for any reason. There are some issues with the combat animations and reactions of the AI that is totally okay since the footage is probably recorded from an early build of the game.

Personally, I think Sucker Punch has made the right decision in terms of their new title. Ghost of Tsushima definitely features a very unique setting and story compared to Prophecy. However, the canceled project might be revived someday by the American developer with more new ideas, altered settings, and some unique gameplay mechanics.
