Have you been wanting to jump into Ghost Recon Breakpoint lately, despite it being out of the current gaming meta? Ubisoft has got you covered. Revealed in today's Ubisoft Forward pre-show reel, the developer showed off some of what players can expect in the free update come July 16th.
Seen in the gameplay trailer below, we can see what this looks like in action:
According to Ubisoft press statements, looping in the option for AI teammates is a win for all solo players. Anyone jumping into the game alone can decide with an easy menu option to add or remove the AI teammates at any time, so you can choose to go rogue or build a squad at will.
On top of this, Ghost Recon Breakpoint will also be adding in a new live event as part of the July 16th update. Titled 'Resistance!' Ubisoft describes the event as:
Nomad will support the Outcasts during their counterattack on Sentinel forces and assist them in their efforts to save prisoners, attack Sentinel outposts and stop convoys looking for survivors.
There is an element of world building that comes with this; missions will change the layout with success lowering the impact of rebels throughout the area. With some exclusive awards available, the event will span from July 16 to July 29.
There are a handful of other updates you can expect -- between Ghost War PvP content and some quality of life improvements. The game will also gave a free weekend (for all base content) from July 16 to July 19 to give players an idea of what this new content feels like.
While the Ghost Recon Breakpoint didn't smash our expectations for the game, it has evolved a ton since the base title released. Definitely worth taking a second look at as releases slow down ahead of the PS5 and Xbox Series X launch.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. You can grab the game ahead of the Resistance! event now physically on Amazon to help support DualShockers, but you can expect some better sales in the week to come. Check out a gallery of some of the promotional images, below:
