Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online is about to make big waves for those looking for a new tactical multiplayer shooter, and luckily it seems like the game is going to be easy to get through its release on Steam Early Access.

In a press release from Ubisoft, the company announced that Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online will be available on PC through Steam’s Early Access program later this year. While an official release date has not been confirmed yet at this time in the US, the game is now available in other regions through Early Access (such as Canada), with a worldwide release expected sometime in Spring 2014. Overall, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online presents a big win for Ubisoft, as the company has been looking to bring the game to Steam for a long time, as Corey Facteau (Producer, Ubisoft) explains:

“Bringing Ghost Recon Online to Steam has been our goal since the game’s inception. We took the time necessary to reach a quality level that can go head to head with the best online games available today before releasing on Steam. As the top shooter for gamers who enjoy team gameplay, we have also seen our audience expand to include MOBA fans, who comprise fifty percent of our user base. To ensure a seamless transition to the new platform, we will use Early Access to fine tune the Ghost Recon Online experience before releasing it to the rest of the world.”

Stay tuned for more details on when we can expect Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online to arrive through Steam Early Access here in the US.
