Ubisoft has announced that Ghost Recon Wildlands will have a free to play weekend on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC from September 20 to September 23, 2018. During this free weekend players who download Wildlands will have access to everything in the base game, from Ghost War PvP, special themed PvE missions featuring guest appearances from the Predator, Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell, and some fan-favorite Operators from Rainbow Six Siege.

As part of the free weekend, Ghost Recon Wildlands will also be available for 60% off on all platforms from September 18 to October 1, 2018. This discount also includes two new versions of the game:

The Year 2 Gold Edition includes the base game and the Year 2 Pass, which grants one-week early access to all six Year 2 Ghost War classes and special equipment packs. The Ultimate Edition will get you The Year 1 Season Pass (featuring two major expansions, Narco Road and Fallen Ghosts), the Year 2 Pass, and exclusive perks including special weapons, attachments, four Battle Crates, one Skill Point Pack, One Resource Pack, and one Long XP Booster.

 

For those who are trying the game for the first time during this weekend, all progress made will carry over into the game should you choose to purchase it during this time.

A free update titled Operations & Maintenance is also coming to Ghost Recon Wildlands today that gives a new item pack to Year 2 Pass owners as well as a Mood Matchmaking feature which allows you to pick and choose specific goals such as completing missions or just spending time in the open world, and matching you with like minded players.
