News clippings are a collectible you’ll be able to find on various jobs, with five unique clippings per location. There’s an achievement for collecting your first five clippings and another achievement for collecting all twenty-five clippings. While Fungi give you experience for collecting them during a match, clippings don’t, so don’t expect to level up by hunting down clippings.

How To Find Clippings

Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed (2)

It’s worth mentioning that to find these clippings you’ll need to be playing a Ghostbuster. If you’re playing the ghost, you’ll be unable to find and collect clippings. Furthermore, you’ll need to complete the job you’re on for the clipping to count as collected. You don’t have to win the match or catch the ghost or anything like that. You just have to complete the match before the clipping will add itself to the corkboard. So, don’t think that you can drop into a match, find the clipping, and then drop out immediately.

Unfortunately, there’s no set list of locations that can tell you where to find every clipping. The clippings are randomly generated, meaning they could show up just about anywhere on the map. You’ll also only be able to collect one clipping per match. This means that you’ll have to play at least five matches to clear a location of its clippings, and at least twenty-five matches to find all the clipping available in the game.

The good news is that clippings are often easy to spot, especially if they’re in a dark location. Clippings give off a golden glow, drawing plenty of attention to themselves. The only problem is that the golden light can be a little difficult to see in well-lit areas. However, even in well-lit areas, the golden glow should be enough to attract your eye if you’re specifically hunting down this particular collectible.

Where To Read Clippings

Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed

You’ll be able to read the news clippings on a corkboard near Ray. When you view the clippings, you’ll gain some insight into how and why each location is haunted. These are fun little tidbits that add some lore to the game. While they’re not strictly necessary for anyone to collect, they do provide a fun objective while you’re running around busting ghosts. Finding out more details about how each job came to be could also be rewarding for fans of the Ghostbusters series looking to squeeze a little more information out of the game.
