If you didn't hear about Gladiux, it's a new action game born from a collaboration between Starcaster Games and Japanese studio Acquire. Gladiux is an arena-styled combat game where the players control a gladiator in Roma during the rule of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, from 161 to 180. As a gladiator, players will fight their way up for fortune, glory, and ultimately their freedom. Now, we've got our first taste of Gladiux with the game's first teaser trailer, included below.

According to Acquire's representative Takuma Endo, Gladiux is loosely based on Gladiator Begins, a PSP game launched by Acquire in 2010. Gladiux is a brand-new game with much more content, a higher budget, and running on Unreal Engine. Takuma Endo also mentioned the game might come to PlayStation 5.

For now, Starcaster Games announced Gladiux is coming to PC, and "consoles" in 2020, with no precision on which consoles it'll be. Seeing the 2020 range release, maybe the game will be among the launch titles of PS5 in holidays 2020, but this is only speculation on my part.

The teaser trailer is included below. A teaser site for Gladiux was also opened, with new screenshots. Those are also included below.

Acquire is the studio behind Octopath Traveler, which, personally speaking, has an awesome battle system but a lackluster story. A mobile prequel for Octopath Traveler is coming in 2020 and the game will probably launch in the west too. A sequel on consoles is also in development. Acquire is also launching a spinoff of Way of the Samurai called Katanakami on PS4, Switch and PC on February 21 in Japan.

Starcaster Games previously published action game A.R.E.S. Extinction Agenda EX and puzzle game So Many Me.
