Pokemon GO Fest 2021 is finally here and players are getting stuck into new spawns, challenges and lots of new research.

The core research from this year's event is called "The Melody Pokemon" and sees players earn the opportunity to encounter Meloetta.

There are, as usual, a variety of different steps players need to go through in order to nab their opportunity with the Mythical Pokemon, including building their ideal Pokemon band.

However, one of the early tasks is causing a few issues, so here's how to take a snapshot for the Melody Pokemon Special Research at GO Fest 2021.

This task appears three times throughout the Research. In step three, rewarding 500 XP, step seven, rewarding an incense and finally, on step 11, requesting players to specifically take a snapshot of Meloetta at GO Fest in exchange for a Lure Module.

How to Take a Snapshot At GO Fest 2021

For those struggling, here's a step by step guide of how you can take a snapshot of a Pokemon at GO Fest 2021.

Step One: Load up the menu and choose a Pokemon you want to take the snapshot of - this can be any Pokemon and doesn't need to be related to Pokemon GO Fest in any way (until the Meloetta step).

Step Two: Look for and select the camera icon in the top right corner of your phone screen.

Step Three: In an open space, scan your camera around, looking for yellow leaves/petals that will eventually appear.

Step Four: Click the camera icon in the bottom-middle of the screen, this will cause the snapshot to be taken and will complete the Research Task!
