GO Fest 2021 - All Ultra Unlock Challenges, Rewards and How to Complete
Pokemon GO Fest is very much a multifaceted event with something for just about everybody to take part in.
There’s new Shiny Pokemon for the Shiny Hunters, rotating regional Pokemon for those ‘dex perfectionists, tons of Raids for the PVP aficionados and the Ultra Unlock challenges for those wanting a goal to work towards.
Over the course of the event, players will be working towards a set of 24 goals to unlock the grand prize.
So, here are all of the Ultra Unlock Challenges from GO Fest 2021 and all the reward details that Niantic has confirmed.
GO Fest Ultra Unlock Challenges
Over the course of GO Fest, there will be a total of 24 global challenges.
- Challenge 1: Catch 130,000 Pokemon
GO Fest Ultra Unlock Challenge Rewards
Upon completing eight challenges, players will unlock the “Time” reward.
This reward will run from Friday, July 23 to Tuesday, August 3 and will see “Pokémon from various eras will be appearing more often.”
This likely means, for the time the event is active, older (Fossils) and newer (Technology-based) Pokemon will be more common. The “Time” Ultra Unlock will also see the release of Shiny Cranidos and Shieldon.
The second reward is unlocked after players complete 16 Ultra Unlock challenges and is titled “Space”.
It kicks off three days after the “Time” reward on Friday, August 6 and running until Tuesday, August 17.
Niantic says that “Space itself will be distorted as Pokémon from various places appear!” This almost certainly means a handful of Regional Pokemon will be switching places.
This has now been confirmed with Shiny Heracross getting a worldwide release.
Niantic has been particularly quiet about the third Ultra Unlock rewards from GO Fest this year.
We know that players will need to complete all 24 global challenges and that it will run from August 20 to August 31 but not much more than that.
There are two prevailing theories. As Dialga and Palkia are the Space and Time Pokemon, we could be seeing their Shiny Forms released into the game.
The other theory is that it could be time for Arceus to appear. Arceus was said to have created the world of Pokemon, including Space and Time itself and therefore, signs could point to this.
