Teased last month, Bandai Namco has released the debut trailer for the new installment of their God Eater series, God Eater 3.

The trailer shows a weathered world with little signs of life outside of a lone traveler who has been shackled. Furthermore, we see this new character break free of the handcuffs and pick up a weapon to evidently take on some approaching enemies.

The Aragami are back and from the looks of the short clips of gameplay we see some new types. The description of the game is to "re-establish a new balance" in the God Eater series, whether this is addressing the story or gameplay is yet to be revealed.

There is very little information given about this new entry in the God Eater series, with consoles and release window not provided. However, the gameplay segments show a rather large improvement on the God Eater elements that the series is known for. The series began as a PSP exclusive so it's only natural that the visual would improve with the release of better hardware.

Bandai Namco provided a short description of the premise:

A lot of years have been passed from the last battle. The earth is not anymore the place humans were used to live. The Aragami, terrifying beasts are still raging around the world creating misery and destruction. To save the world and reestablish the balance new heroes has been raised – the God Eaters – man who have been gifted or cursed with new version of the God Arc weapons – special implants powered by Aragami cells. Team up with your other God Eaters to take down monstrous new Aragami that are tearing apart locations around the globe. But this won’t be your only mission, something is happening to the God Eaters and the line between dark and light has never been so thin… It’s time to start breaking free from the cursed shackles that bind the soul of the God Eaters while the battle will rush as never before…

God Eater 3 was first received in a small teaser trailer that we saw back in March and we also found out that Bandai Namco is planning to release it simultaneously worldwide.
