Publisher Vyersoft and Perth-based indie outfit Boss Music Games have announced that God of Riffs will be slashing and slaying in the metalverse from September 21st, 2022.

For those unfamiliar with God of Riffs, it's a music-rhythm game that swaps out the traditional colored notes and glamourous concert arenas for undead hellspawn and hellscapes from the underworld. Oh, and you won't find any pop-rock tunes here; it's all metal and as heavy as the axes used to crush the skeleton army that charges players in each track.

God of Riffs has actually been available as an Early Access release on Steam since July 2021, but the full release of version 1.0 this September will mark a big update for the game. Players will find new game modes, new tracks, and plenty of other technical changes the development team has worked on to make for the smoothest game possible. There's also the promise of even more content to come later in the year with a full-on Story Mode being planned as DLC. Tell you what, if the developers don't find a way to pay homage to Eddie's epic showdown in Stranger Things 4, it's an opportunity wasted.

God of Riffs will release on September 21st for Meta Quest, Meta Quest 2, and Steam VR for the pocket-money price of $14.99. If you turn up to this gig early you'll be treated to a 30% launch discount.
