God of War Art Director Recreates Cuphead and Mugman in Lovely 3D Artwork

Next on God of War art director's list for his beautiful 3D art are Cuphead protagonists Cuphead and Mugman, retaining their classic look.

Previously the God of War Art Director Raf Grassetti posted 3D art on his official Twitter page of two famous Cuphead villains, King Dice and The Devil. Today he posted another gorgeous piece in the same vein: 3D art of the protagonists Cuphead and Mugman:

His reasons behind making them such artistic tributes was due to him completing the game with his son. It’s incredible how these 3D renders manage to look just like claymation, which gives the piece this excellent old school vibe. You can follow him on Twitter and Instagram to see his new art pieces as they come along.

Since the original announcement of Studio MDHR’s Cuphead, everyone was blown away by it’s amazing 1930’s cartoon style. Upon release, the game was met with critical acclaim from both industry members and consumers alike. So it’s no surprise that Grassetti would be taken enough by the title to create his own versions of the characters.

Cuphead is currently available on Xbox One, Windows PC, Steam and most recently, the Nintendo Switch. We found Cuphead to be a perfection addition to the platform. Studio MDHR announced last year at the Xbox E3 Briefing The Delicious Last Course DLC for the game. The DLC was planned for a 2019 release at the time but the studio announced a few weeks ago that it will be pushed back to 2020 to give the team more time to finish without having to deal with crunch.

You can purchase a Cuphead digital download code for Nintendo Switch for $19.99. You can also purchase the game on the Nintendo eShop, Xbox Store, Windows Store, and Steam.
