In a Twitter post from Sony's Santa Monica Studio, God of War Director Cory Balrog announced that there will be an audiobook version of the game's story. Even better, the story will be narrated by Mimir, the talking head that accompanies Atreus and Kratos on their journey. You can check out the announcement video below. The video also shows us a quick preview of Mimir's voice actor, Allistair Duncan, in action so listeners can get a quick taste of what they can expect to hear. The audiobook will be available on August 28.

If audiobooks aren't your style, a more conventional novelization has also been in the works and will be available on the same date as the audio version of the story.

While God of War has been available since April, there's still news coming out about the game. This week, we learned through some new concept art that the game could've taken place in Ancient Egypt. Also, for those looking to jump back into the game, New Game+ has been available since August 20.

God of War released earlier this year exclusively on PS4. It's one of two games that have come out this year that we've given a perfect 10 out of 10.
