God of War's Art Director Raf Grassetti tweeted out an interesting status update from SDCC that should get fans of the highly acclaimed title excited. We have a female Kratos cosplay, which is already awesome, paired with the recreated (and naturally fake) head of Mimir:

In God of War, Mimir is a God of Wisdom who, after Odin accuses him of aiding the giants, binds him to a tree that even Thor's hammer can't destroy and tortures him everyday for 109 years. Kratos and his son Atreus came to him and agreed to cut his head off and bring it to someone who can reanimate him. After they succeed, the father and son carry the living head with him through the rest of their journey.

It seems the cosplayer gets that detail very right since she's literally wearing him. The sculpture even sports one of the Bifröst crystal eyes (the other being torn out by Odin) that Mimir still uses. It's always fun to see game developers have fun and mingle with the fans, especially when they notice cool things like this in the process.

This is hardly the first Kratos cosplay, as the talented Alex Wolf debuted his own strong rendition of the iconic gaming character as he recreates memorable moments from the game.

In some exciting news, Sony Santa Monica has set the gears into motion as they begin the hiring process for the next God of War installment. They're specifically looking for those with "knowledge of God of War."

This year marks the one year anniversary of God of War‘s release and Sony has been celebrating in style. The devs released a video thanking fans for their continued support of the game, rewarding them with a free dynamic PS4 theme. There’s also the recent “One Year Later” trailer.
