Every day we are one step closer to Hideo Kojima's secretive Death Stranding, however we are getting tiny details here and there. This includes that God of War's Creative Director Cory Barlog has gotten a moment to see gameplay behind closed doors. In case you missed it, today is Kojima Productions' third anniversary, having officially been founded (outside of Konami) on December 16, 2015. To celebrate the occasion, Kojima-san wrote a brief celebratory post reflecting on his decision to go independent and the risks he took in the process:

Expectedly, developers the world over offered their congratulations on the success of the studio. One of those notable developers included Cory Barlog, the iconic head of Sony Santa Monica Studios and creator of the latest and greatest God of War. His initial sweet message simply wished Kojima-san and his studio a happy third anniversary, and that he was really "looking forward to all that [Kojima has] to create!"

Things steered a bit off track though, with a Twitter user replying with a quick question: "between you and me..., you watched a [sic.] private gameplay of Death Stranding didn't you?"

Not mincing words or providing extra details, Barlog responded with "Yes."

Now, it shouldn't be any major surprise that two of the largest names within Sony Interactive Entertainment's publishing house have shared notes on upcoming games. It's an occurrence that happens frequently in the industry, whether we are talking about small indie developers or heads of major AAA studios that produce games like God of War.

On the other end, we can glean an interesting point from this -- Death Stranding is at a point where vertical slice gameplay is demo-able. Even though we saw a brief look at Death Stranding's gameplay in a trailer at PlayStation's E3 2018 Press Conference, it was more a super-cut of locations and characters -- not a fleshed out gameplay demo.

Kojima-san and Barlog have much different ways of celebrating the holiday. In case you missed it, Barlog revealed a Sony Santa Monica officially-licensed, limited edition holiday print titled "Freya's Dinner" with all of God of War's characters together. Meanwhile, Kojima-san is wandering around New York posing like the intro of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty or dodging Kanye West.

Death Stranding currently doesn't have a release window, but it is planning on coming to PS4. If you want to show your early support for the developer, feel free to pre-order the game on Amazon.
