Today NPD disclosed its statistics for the month of April 2018 related to the United States Market.

The numbers came from Games Industry Analyst Mat Piscatella, who posted an extensive video on  YouTube.

First of all, it's a triumph for God of War, which isn't just April's top-selling game, but it set a dollar sales launch month record for a PlayStation exclusive, and for an April release after the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV in 2008.

PlayStation 4 is the best-selling platform of the month and had the highest unit sales since the Wii in April 2009. The God of War limited edition PS4 bundle was the top-selling single hardware SKU in the month dollar-wise.

The DualShock 4 also became the top-selling gamepad ever, dollar-wise.

Far Cry 5 was the second-ranking title of the month, followed by MLB 18: The Show in third place and Nintendo Labo's Variety Kit in fourth place. The Robot Kit was way less successful, debuting in 21st place.
