Kratos and Atreus show off some moves in a vibrant animated version of God of War Ragnarok's cover art.

Fans may have got a decent look into the world of Ragnarok in September with a beautifully lengthy trailer showing off Midgard's icy atmosphere but that's really only left us wanting even more.

Throughout the footage, we got to see a chilly Midgard, a few familiar faces such as Freya and Mimir and an older looking Atreus that was a far cry from the snippet we all saw a year ago. The trailer was packed full of amazing sequences and thrilling areas so it’s very easy to miss some subtle details.

As we sit and wait for a morsel from Sony Santa Monica, one eager fan decided to go ahead and animate the main stars of the show in some very cool art.

Reddit user KratosMemories has showcased their amazing animated version of the cover concept art for God of War Ragnarok. As you can see, Kratos and Atreus are standing atop the frozen Lake of Nine surrounded by that chilly environment that has now coated Midgard.

With some wolves to the left accompanied by a sledge, Tyr's Temple in shards and dynamic forks of lightning illuminating the skies, it surely makes for a tense and dramatic piece of artwork.

KratosMemories has animated Kratos so that he's waving his axe around as well as allowing his fur shawl to blow freely in the cold breeze. Atreus has some moves of his own as he steps out in front of his father, bow in hand and ready for action.

What really makes this piece of fan art animation stand out is how KratosMemories has added in the weather elements, allowing a lightning strike to happen just a few feet from Atreus.

God of War Ragnarök will release at some stage in 2022 for PS4 and PS5
