A recent report from Jason Schreier, the well-known industry insider, claims that God of War Ragnarok has been planned for November 2022, though a delay to 2023 is still possible.

God of War Ragnarok is one of the highly anticipated PS5-exclusive launches for this year. The game was originally supposed to be out in 2021, but Sony pushed it back to 2022.

Recently, rumors started circulating around another delay for God of War Ragnarok that would push it back to 2023, however, Jason Schrier confronted the rumors with his recent report, claiming that he has heard from three different sources familiar with the game's development that Ragnarok is still on track for a 2022 release.

Expect a Release Date Announcement for God of War Ragnarok Later This Month

According to Schreier, his sources have confirmed that the game targets a November 2022 release window at the moment. Two of his sources have also indicated that Sony will reveal the official release date of the game later this month despite having a State of Play showcase a few weeks earlier.

Unlike the first entry of the God of War series in Norse, the upcoming iteration is not led by Cory Barlog, who is believed to be working on another AAA project at Santa Monica studios.

Despite reassuring fans of a release in 2022, Jason Schreier still doesn't deny the possibility of Ragnarok's delay into 2023 as he states everything is possible in the turbulent world of game development.

According to previous unofficial reports, Sony was targetting a September 2022 launch for Ragnarok, but that release window now belongs to The Last of Us Part 1 Remake.

God of War Ragnarok will be available on both PS4 and PS5 consoles. A release on PC might be announced at a later date after launch as the 2018 version of God of War experienced stellar financial performance on Steam.
