WARNING: This article contains very minor spoilers for God of War: RagnarokArguably one of the biggest games of the year, God of War: Ragnarok, has finally arrived and fans are already discovering hidden easter eggs and references to other PlayStation exclusive titles such as The Last Of Us: Part II.

The secret reference to Joel and Ellie was spotted by a user on the official Last Of Us subreddit (via GamesRadar), and is in the form of a touching poem. Although the poem in question doesn't directly specify the characters of Ellie and Joel, if you're a fan of Naughty Dog's hit series, it's pretty clear that this is an ode to the two.

The reference in question can be found in one of God of War: Ragnarok's many collectable items, with this specific one being a poem inside of a book. The poem is titled 'We Who Remain, Part the Second', which is clearly another way of saying 'The Last Of Us: Part II'. Part of the poem then reads, "When disease rots your body, when hate sours your brain, what separates the mad and the sane?", a clear reference the zombie outbreak around which The Last Of Us is based.

It continues, "For the bearded, cruel father, and his surrogate daughter, shall never know respite, from a life full of slaughter". Of course, the "bearded, cruel father" is in fact Joel, whilst his surrogate daughter is Ellie. If the wording of this poem wasn't enough to convince you this is a Last Of Us easter egg, the book cover even features Ellie's famous tattoo. Check out the poem for yourself in the post below!

God of War: Ragnarok launched on November 9th, and has quickly become one of the biggest games of the year. The official DualShockers review labelled it a "masterpiece of a sequel" with a perfect 10/10 score.
