God of War’s Art Director Showcases Kratos-Esque Batman for New Comic

If you’re a fan of Batman and also Kratos from God of War, artist Raf Grassetti has a stunning take on The Caped Crusader for DC’s next comic.

Comic books are becoming just as popular as ever, and rightly so. In DC’s next upcoming  Batman: The Detective #1, we notice an all too familiar artist take to its cover with their incredible drawing of a buff Batman on a motorcycle.

Batman has had a number of makeovers throughout its long and illustrious history but this Batman could very well be my favourite so far. Although Bruce has always been physically in shape, I couldn’t help but notice how much his muscular shape looks like that of Kratos from God of War.

Of course, that’s down to God of War‘s artist Raf Grassetti designing this beefy Batman cover variant for DC’s Batman: The Detective #1.

Who is Raf Grassetti?

Raf Grassetti worked at Bioware in 2011 as a Senior Character Artist on the Mass Effect and Dragon Age franchises, before moving to California in 2013 to work at Sony as a Character Art Supervisor where he contributed to titles that consist of Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous 3, and The Order 1886. We then saw him getting hired at Sony Santa Monica to work as a principal artist on the God of War series.

In a tweet on Grassetti’s personal Twitter account, the artist revealed what they had been working on with DC Comics. The amazing looking variant cover showcases a muscular and broody Batman with some bats flying around in the background.

Donning a black leather jacket and goggles shows off Batman on his travels through Europe. If the classic Batman look is what you’re after, there’s another variant by Grassetti of that, too.
